WELCOME TO THE GREAT WITLEY BEEKEEPERS’ ASSOCIATION
|
Formed 125 years ago, the Great Witley Beekeepers’ Association is one of the oldest branches in the country. Our aim is to support members in the craft of beekeeping and publicise the benefits of beekeeping within the wider community. Our membership ranges from Martley to Abberley, Great Witley, Frith Common, Stourport and beyond. In total our members manage over 200 beehives throughout the area.
During the season we hold monthly meetings with talks by local members and visiting beekeepers. We also conduct apiary visits within our own membership and to neighbouring branches.

Bees are essential for the natural ecology of our countryside—the pollination of our local fruit trees and bushes, vegetables, flowers and arable crops. Bees can no longer survive for more than 2 years in the wild and our growing membership takes this aspect of the healthy management of bees just as seriously as producing fantastic honey.
